What you'll Learn
Turning downhill habits into uphill habits.
Remember: Everything worthwhile is uphill.
We have ________ hopes and __________ habits
It's impossible to go uphill with downhill habits.
Nothing is more deceiving in life than good intentions
unless they're backed up with good actions.
People want a downhill ___________ with uphill results
Hope is not a strategy.
How do we climb uphill? By intentional living
Three words that describe intentional living
1. Deliberate
2. Consistent
3. Willful
How do you change your downhill habits?
1. You change your habits by changing your Thinking
2. What we think determines who we are
3. Who we are determines what we do
You are today what your thoughts have brought you
You will be tomorrow where your thoughts take you.
Five types of downhill habits
1. Negative Thinking
a) If you are negative in your thinking, the habit you will develop is Procrastination
b) Turn your uphill thinking into possibility thinking
When you believe there is always an answer, you take action. You can hardly wait to take action because you know as soon as you take action, you are going to get answer.
2. I am not responsible
a) If you think, I am not responsible, the habit you will incur is making excuses
The earlier you make the decision to taking responsibility and consistently practice the
discipline, the greater the compounding effect on your life.
b) In the areas that are tough ones in which we are not disciplined, you don't make
decisions for a week or for a month. You make decisions for that day
3. Immediate Gratification
a) If you think immediate gratification, you are going to be inconsistent
b) when we are willing to wait, our uphill habit: consistency
Moment People vs. Movement People
Moment people are immediate gratification people. And movement people see
the long range vision
c) Moment people are always asking how long will this take
d) Movement people ask how far an I go
We know that the best things in life take a long time
e) Moment people think good happens easily and quickly.
f) Movement people think everything worthwhile is uphill.
g) Moment people lead with emotions.
h) Movement people lead with principles
I) Moment people are bigger on the outside than the inside Goal-oriented is the
outside.
j) Movement people are bigger on the inside than they are on the outside. Growth-
oriented is the inside.
4. Life Should Be Easy,
a) When we think that life should be easy, the habit we have in life is apathy.
b) The uphill habit that we develop is awareness
5. It's All About Me
a) When someone says, "it's all about me" the habit is selfishness.
b) We have to start thinking, it's all about other.
